JTB Communication Design Co., Ltd., (Minato Ward, Tokyo, Chairman and Representative Director: Akihiro Hosono, herein referred to as JTB Communication Design) a provider of various communication services with JTB group, will begin selling tickets on January 20 to the spring 2019 performance of “Revolutionary New Drumming Entertainment in Tokyo -Mangekyo-”, which will be held from April 10 to June 30, 2019.
Mangekyo is a new type of non-verbal entertainment in Tokyo, which is planned and produced by JTB Communication Design and DRUM TAO, a taiko entertainment group who have performed in front of 8 million people, with shows in 500 cities across 26 countries, and a hit television performance at the end of 2018 on NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen. Now celebrating its third year, Mangekyo will be presented at the Alternative Theatre in Yurakucho. Mangekyo combines the powerful sounds of traditional and avant-garde taiko drums with a light show using vivid projection mapping. The show is garnering praise both domestically and abroad as a uniquely refined Japanese style of entertainment that can be enjoyed day or night.
Mangekyo performances are set to occur regularly starting April 2019. To ensure that tickets can be easily purchased by as many attendees as possible, we plan to gradually increase ticket sales channels in Japan and overseas. In addition, we are launching initiatives to correspond with the show's various needs. We plan to offer ticket plans for companies who support the Designing the Future of Tokyo campaign, which aims to create a new center for exchange.
By showcasing the appeal of Mangekyo across the globe, JTB Communication Design is contributing to an initiative to make Tokyo and Japan as a whole a desirable place for people around the world to visit. In addition, the company is creating a new dialog by designing a center to showcase never-before-seen styles of entertainment.
